Experience

Magento Architect / Lead Developer

iBoats

As Lead Full-Stack Developer, I assumed a pivotal role in overseeing and managing web properties and storefronts that utilized Magento 2, Python (Django), and PHP (Symfony) technologies. My responsibilities extended to the management of distributed infrastructure, cyber security, and DevOps operations on AWS Code Pipelines, with a focus on Linux web servers running LEMP and LAMP stacks. A significant achievement was the implementation of Cloudflare CDN functionality across legacy properties, leveraging JavaScript-on-the-Edge (Cloudflare Workers) to efficiently manipulate the response body of numerous static content pages.

In addition to my technical expertise, I played a crucial role in facilitating seamless dropship fulfillment logistics through EDI, API, and CSV middleware. This involved creating custom API solutions and introducing a single-cart handoff feature within the Magento cart, contributing to enhanced user experiences and streamlined sales reporting. Furthermore, I actively supported SEO and marketing initiatives by conducting ScreamingFrog SEO audits and developing custom Python bots and Selenium scripts for automated testing and performance benchmarking. Collaborating with BizDev teams, I utilized tools such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Data Studio to augment business intelligence and reporting capabilities. Lastly, my contributions extended to enabling multi-channel fulfillment through Amazon and eBay via a custom GoDataFeed integration, and I emphasized documentation and best practices to optimize developer processes and reduce the time required for various documentation tasks, including deployments, bug fixes, feature enhancements, and root cause analyses (RCAs).

Interests

I enjoy 3D printing, flying drones, continuous learning and attempting to keep life balanced. I'm a Linux enthusiast and have at least one Raspberry Pi running at any given time. I spent much of my life creating things within a web browser so my recent creative outlets generally include 3D modeling and recreational programming. When not in front of my computer I can be found spending time with my family, making poorly timed jokes, getting outdoors and practicing boxing.
